myo method

The Myo Method is a massage training system designed to give therapists all of the tools they need to work with specific issues many clients face. You will learn Advanced Clinical techniques, effective engagement of the tissue and layers, postural assessments, case studies, and better ways to communicate with clients about their health and conditions.

The Focal Points of The Myo Method Are:

Working in the Right Layer

The right advanced Clinical Bodywork techniques make a profound connection within the client’s body in the right layer and facilitates change. Specific modalities taught may include: myofascial release, trigger point, active release techniques, osteopathic techniques, and cross fiber friction.

A Knowledgeable Touch

Your hands will become familiar with tissue textures and you will be able to interpret what you feel. The Myo Method asks the questions, “What are you actually feeling?” and “What is the quality of the tissue?” Scar tissue, adhesions, fatty deposits, edema, inflammation– being able to identify what you feel can make all the difference.

A Deliberate Intention

A purposeful understanding of how to apply advanced massage techniques with clients. You will learn step by step how to accurately engage the client’s tissue to achieve maximum effectiveness with every technique.

Empathetic and Sympathetic Connection

You will build stronger and longer-lasting client relationships based on excellent communication skills. The Myo Method includes a language component so you can become more confident talking with clients about their concerns. Having a solid vocabulary can put the client at ease and help you gain a reputation as a knowledgeable massage professional.

A Trained Eye

Making better assessments and quicker reads of posture, client biomechanics, and ROM. If you have a better understanding of how the human body moves, you will notice imbalances and dysfunctional patterns affecting your clients which will help direct the focus of your session. A developed eye for structure and movement is critical to get a complete picture.

A Strong Foundation

Your biomechanics are the difference in the longevity of your career. When you are grounded, solid, and well positioned, the work will become effortless. The Myo Method was created with sustainability in mind by therapists with long-lasting careers. We understand the value of learning techniques designed to support you so you can continue to work for years.

At The Myo Institute, our instructors have spent thousands of hours in the classroom as students and have worked with hundreds of therapists as mentors and instructors. We also have a substantial amount of hands-on experience with developed case studies on client dysfunctions. The knowledge gained from those experiences influenced our advanced massage training system: The Myo Method. Come and learn why your training should be more than just massage techniques.
